nommie — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Nommie is a recipe journaling and sharing app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and chosen username, used to create and identify your account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides (and your email or a private relay address).
- Content you create. Recipe photos, dish names, ingredients, notes, tags, and nutrition estimates you save. Recipes are visible to other signed-in Nommie users, for example through search, follows, and shared links.
- Social activity. Who you follow, recipes you save, and recipes you replate.
- Usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used (for example, how often cards are exported). This data is aggregated and not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, a device token is stored so we can notify you about follows and replates.
How ingredient data is processed
When you request a macro estimate, your ingredient list, dish name, and serving count are sent to our server, which forwards them to an AI provider to compute a nutrition estimate. No account information travels with that request beyond what is needed to authenticate it. Nutrition estimates are approximate and are not medical or dietary advice.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Google Firebase (Firestore, Storage, and Authentication). Photos you export are saved to your own device's photo library.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app. This permanently removes your account, profile, recipes, photos, follows, and saved recipes from our servers.
Reporting content
You can report any recipe from within the app and block other users. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours, and content that violates our standards is removed.
Children
Nommie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
